Support Letters
As parents of children who are deaf and hard of hearing,
the Family Support Connection staff values each family's experience.
We can all think back to a key decision-making moment in our child's
life. We were busy gathering research and advice from professionals
to reach a decision. We also recall the comfort and support we
felt sharing our experiences with other families in a similar
situation. Those families' experiences aided us in this difficult
decision-making process.
We invite you to read the following stories written by a variety
of families, representing many different communication options,
use of technology, and educational placement. The letters are
intended to be a comfort to parents, to welcome the parents into
our community and to give families just learning about hearing
loss a rich array of choices for their child. Please let us know
if you would wish to connect with families like these (
